Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
What is this?
You are currently using what’s called a Progressive Web App. You don’t need to download this app; it works just like a website in your browser.
The text is too small. Can I change that?
There’s a gear icon at the top of the screen. You can adjust the font size there. The changes will be visible throughout the app.
I don’t speak German. Can I change the language?
There’s a gear icon at the top of the screen. You can select your language there. Currently, the app is available in German, English, French, and Dutch. The changes will be reflected throughout the app. Some content is also available in “Simple Language” and “Low German/Plattdeutsch.”
The layout looks different on my smartphone than it does on my friends’ phones. Why?
Our app is accessible and responsive. This means the display always depends on the device being used. Font sizes and formats adapt flexibly based on user settings, operating system, and screen size. As a result, the display may naturally vary. This might mean you have to scroll a little on some devices to see all the content. But this ensures that everyone can use this app.
My smartphone isn’t that old. Yet some features don’t work the same way as they do for my friends. What’s going on?
We use many technical innovations in this app. Some of them are so new that not all manufacturers have yet integrated the latest web standards into their browsers or operating systems. This will change over time. Until then, we recommend using browsers based on Google Chrome and Apple Safari.
If I agree to the permission requests, where does the data go?
We do not collect any data from you. The app is designed so that only you are able to collect and share data from the app. We take data protection very seriously. Therefore, no personal information is transmitted to us. Use of our app is anonymous.
Why does my device ask me to grant location or camera access?
Some features require permission to use. If your device asks you whether you want to grant access to your camera or GPS signal, it is required for the feature in question. In this case, you should confirm the permission request.
The “Photo Booth,” “Photo Point,” and “Augmented Reality” sections require camera permission. When checking in, an available GPS receiver must also grant access to your location. And when transferring or uploading images, you may need to confirm access to your document folders.
Some features aren’t showing up for me.
Please check if your operating system is up to date. We require a current version so that all features can be displayed correctly. Please also update your browser.
I declined a permission request, and now the prompt isn’t appearing again. What can I do?
Refresh the page by using the reload button next to your search bar. If that doesn’t help, restart your browser and visit our site again. If the permission dialog still doesn’t open, try the following options:
Apple Safari browser:
Open the Safari browser on your device. Click "Safari" in the menu bar at the top left. Select "Preferences" from the drop-down menu. Click the "Privacy" tab. Under "Location Services," you can allow websites to access your location. For camera and document folder sharing, click the "Websites" tab. Select "Camera" from the left sidebar to grant camera access. Select "Download files" from the left sidebar to grant access to your Documents folder. Set the permissions for the desired websites to "Allow" or "Ask," depending on your personal preferences. Close the settings window to save your changes.
Google Chrome browser:
Open the Chrome browser on your device. Click the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner. Select "Settings" from the drop-down menu. Scroll down and click "Privacy and Security." Select "Site settings" from the list. Click "Location" to grant location permissions. Click "Camera" to grant camera permissions. To grant permissions for the Documents folder, click "Files and Downloads." Find the desired website and change the permission to “Allow” or “Ask,” depending on your personal preferences. Close the settings window to save the changes.
I switched smartphones and now my game progress is gone.
For privacy reasons, no personal data is transmitted to us, so your game progress is always stored locally on the device you’re using. If you want to participate in the prize system, you should avoid switching devices in the meantime. We cannot restore your game progress retroactively.
